Why convert WebP to PNG?
WebP is a modern format that websites use because it makes small files. When you save an image from a site, it often arrives as WebP, and plenty of tools still struggle with it: older versions of Photoshop, some Office apps, print services and upload forms. PNG opens everywhere and is lossless, so it's the best format to edit from.
Is PNG bigger than WebP?
Usually, yes. A PNG of a photo can be several times larger than the WebP it came from, because PNG stores every pixel without compression losses. For logos, icons and screenshots the difference is smaller. If you only need a file that opens everywhere and size matters, choose JPG instead.
Transparency
Both WebP and PNG support transparent backgrounds, and the converter keeps them. That makes PNG the right choice for logos, stickers and cut-out product shots. JPG can't be transparent, so converting to JPG fills transparent areas with white.
