HEX, RGB and HSL
- HEX, like
#306B34, is the most common format for websites and design tools. - RGB, like
rgb(48, 107, 52), gives the red, green and blue amounts from 0 to 255. - HSL, like
hsl(124, 38%, 31%), describes hue, saturation and lightness, which makes it easy to create lighter or darker versions of a color.
The automatic palette
The palette shows the six most common colors in your image, with similar shades grouped together. It's a quick way to build a color scheme from a photo, a brand image or a piece of artwork.
Why does a color look slightly different?
Photos are made of many slightly different pixels, even in areas that look flat. If a picked color seems a little off, try clicking a few nearby spots. Images compressed as JPG can also have faint color noise around edges.
