How to convert JPG to WebP
- 1Drop your JPGs into the box above, or click Choose images.
- 2WebP is selected for you. Balanced quality suits most websites.
- 3Download each WebP, or all of them as a ZIP file.
Why use WebP on a website?
WebP files are typically 25 to 35% smaller than JPGs that look the same. Smaller images make pages load faster, which visitors notice and which Google's Core Web Vitals measure. Every current browser supports WebP.
Using WebP images
- WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace and Wix all accept WebP uploads.
- In your own HTML, use WebP files just like JPGs in an
<img>tag. - Keep your original JPGs for printing and for apps that don't open WebP yet.
Picking a quality
Balanced is a good default for web photos. Use Best for hero images and portfolios, and Smallest for thumbnails.
